Studio Rental for Advertising Productions in Surrey, BC

Commissioning an advertising production — a brand campaign, a product-launch set, a hero-and-cutdown package for paid media — means scoping a studio against what the brief needs: enough room for setups to stay standing between frames, lighting control at the hour the production runs, access for crew and gear, and the paperwork a client's insurance team will ask for.

Here's what to look at when you're renting a studio for an advertising production in Surrey, in the order the questions land.

What an advertising production asks of a studio that a one-product session doesn't

A product-only session can run inside a single lighting build. An advertising production usually can't — multiple lighting builds for different frames or formats are typical, and the room has to accommodate more than one at a time.

Space to leave setups standing. Striking one build to put up the next adds time per changeover. A room big enough to leave two or three setups up and move between them is a schedule compression, not a comfort factor.

Ceiling height. Large overhead diffusion, boom audio, boom-mounted lighting, and crew sightlines all stack vertically. Low ceilings cap all of them.

Loading at grade. Set pieces, prop pallets, flat packs, and lighting carts arrive on wheels. A door that opens at street level and takes an 8′×10′ opening means no ramps, no lift gates, no freight-elevator delays — load-in happens at street level.

Power. Three-phase industrial power lets multiple high-draw units (HMIs, continuous LED banks, motion-control rigs) run from the room's own supply.

Lighting control is the one question with a time-of-day answer

Our rental page names the time-of-day conditions directly: clerestory windows aren't blackout-capable, so daylight is part of the room during the daytime; evening and overnight bookings run with full control. The 24-hour availability exists for exactly that reason.

For an advertising production, this maps to a planning decision:

Daytime for frames that benefit from or tolerate ambient fill — lifestyle, environment-forward, portrait with daylight character.

Evening or overnight for frames that need full control — motion with specific contrast, dramatic product lighting, dark-background hero frames.

A brief that includes both reads as a two-block booking: ambient-friendly frames in the daytime, controlled-lighting frames at night.

The schedule questions a brief should settle before the booking

Setup and teardown grace. The rental window includes 15 minutes' grace at each end for load-in and strike, within the booked block. For a production day with substantial crew and gear, that window is worth building the schedule around.

Green screen notice. Green screen rigging requires 48 hours' notice to prepare. For an advertising production that includes keyable backgrounds, naming this at scoping — not at setup — is what keeps the production day on schedule.

The paperwork a client's insurance team asks for

Advertising clients, especially agency intermediaries, request a Certificate of Insurance before the production date. Our rental coverage is $2,000,000 commercial general liability plus WorkSafeBC.

Crew capacity

The room comfortably holds ten to twelve people; more is possible depending on the setup. For a production with crew, agency representatives, clients observing, hair-and-makeup, and talent, naming the headcount at scoping is what determines whether the setup breaks down into staging areas or whether the entire crew is in the room at once.
